Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Rig Floorhand to join our dynamic team at Oil Rig Jobs. As a Rig Floorhand, you will be an essential part of the drilling operations, providing support to the drilling crew and assisting in maintaining the safety and efficiency of operations. Key Responsibilities: Assist the rig crew in the setup and operation of drilling equipment and machinery. Operate and maintain rig tools, such as tongs, elevators, and pumps. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the rig floor and surrounding areas. Participate in the handling and transportation of materials to and from the drilling site. Work alongside the driller and rig crew to ensure smooth and efficient drilling operations. Perform routine inspections and assist with preventive maintenance of equipment. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Assist with the installation, removal, and servicing of drilling equipment. Report any issues or malfunctions of equipment to the supervisor. Ensure all rig safety regulations are followed, including emergency response drills. Participate in daily safety meetings and contribute to safety improvement initiatives. Required Skills and Qualifications: Basic understanding of drilling operations and oil rig machinery. Good physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to work in harsh and remote environments for extended periods. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Safety-conscious with a proactive approach to risk management. Valid offshore survival training and other relevant certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET). Ability to work in both day and night shifts. Willingness to travel and work on offshore rigs. Experience: Prior experience in the oil and gas industry or on an oil rig is highly preferred but not mandatory. Experience with rig equipment and tools is an advantage. Hands-on experience in manual labor or construction work is beneficial. Working Hours: Work schedule typically follows a rotational shift pattern, such as 14 days on/14 days off, subject to project requirements. Shifts may vary depending on operational needs, including night shifts and long hours. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of oil drilling operations, tools, and machinery. Familiarity with safety protocols and practices in an offshore or onshore environment. Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of the rig supervisor. Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot minor issues on the rig floor. Capability to work effectively in a team, supporting other crew members when necessary. Physical ability to lift heavy objects and endure long hours of physical activity. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technology used in the industry.
